Receiving a Bad Image error when installing the game.
Answer:
Let's try what we consider to be a "clean" install of the game.
First thing that needs to be done is to run uninstall for Team Sabre and Black Hawk down.
Once you are done uninstalling both games you will need to delete the "Delta Force Black Hawk Down" folder located by default in "C:\Program Files\NovaLogic\".
Go to your windows Start Menu and then choose "Programs" or "All Programs" (Windows XP) from there go to "Accessories" then "System Tools" and open "Disc Cleanup" have it clear all your temporary files. With this done we can now go into installing the games.
First one to be installed Black Hawk Down. Insert the DELTA FORCE - BLACK HAWK DOWN CD in your CD Rom drive. If the "Autorun" does not appear automatically, open "My Computer" and double click the icon for the CD Rom drive the CD is in. Click the option to "Install DELTA FORCE - BLACK HAWK DOWN." Use the default settings during installation to insure a proper installation.
Once you are done installing we can install Team Sabre. Do Not Update Black Hawk Down.
Take the BHD CD out of the CD Drive insert the DELTA FORCE - BLACK HAWK DOWN: TEAM SABRE CD in your CD Rom drive. If the "Autorun" does not appear automatically, open "My Computer" and double click the icon for the CD Rom drive the CD is in. Click the first option to "Install DELTA FORCE - BLACK HAWK DOWN: TEAM SABRE."
A message will appear that explains that (a) DELTA FORCE - BLACK HAWK DOWN is REQUIRED to install and play DELTA FORCE - BLACK HAWK DOWN: TEAM SABRE, and (b) that if you want to remove DELTA FORCE - BLACK HAWK DOWN: TEAM SABRE, you must also remove DELTA FORCE - BLACK HAWK DOWN. To play DELTA FORCE - BLACK HAWK DOWN without the Team Sabre expansion, both products must be uninstalled, then DELTA FORCE - BLACK HAWK DOWN has to be reinstalled. Click "OK" when you have read and understand the message.
Click "Next" on the first screen that comes up. This screen explains that the product being installed is DELTA FORCE - BLACK HAWK DOWN: TEAM SABRE.
The next screen allows you to choose where to install DELTA FORCE - BLACK HAWK DOWN: TEAM SABRE. This must be a folder where DELTA FORCE - BLACK HAWK DOWN is installed. If you have installed DELTA FORCE - BLACK HAWK DOWN to the default path (C:\Program Files\Novalogic\Delta Force Black Hawk Down) that is what will be automatically selected. If the installer was unable to determine where you installed the game, it will show a destination folder, "C:\". If it appears this way, you must browse to the correct location by clicking the "Browse" button. When you have found the correct folder in the "Choose Folder" window, click "OK", then "Next".
A message will appear that explains that you must update DELTA FORCE - BLACK HAWK DOWN to install and play the Team Sabre expansion. After clicking "OK", the updater will launch automatically. A window will appear with the title "Please locate your Novalogic game executable", go to the field that says "Look In:" and click on the down arrow and select C:\, Program Files, Novalogic, Delta Force Black Hawk Down, and Then click once on the first file that has the Delta Force Black Hawk Down icon next to it (DFBHD.EXE). Then click on OPEN. This will start the update process. Once the files finish extracting you may get the option to enter your CD key DO NOT enter your key at this moment. When it is finished extracting, a window will open with the NovaLogic User Agreement. Sometimes this window will appear behind the blue installer window. Look on the task bar for a program with the label "NovaLogic User Agreement" and click it if you do not see the window. When you have accepted the agreement, the updater will update the game. Click "Finish" when the process is complete.
Now you will need to enter the CD key found on the insert in the game's CD case. The CD key is string of 20 numbers and letters. It looks like this: xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx Enter the key and click "Next".
All the files necessary to run DELTA FORCE - BLACK HAWK DOWN: TEAM SABRE will be installed and you will then see a window labeled "NovaLogic Product Registration". If you wish to register your game with us, select your language, enter your age, click on "Register Online" or "Register Offline". If you do not wish to register with us, click "Cancel".
That's it. You have finished installing DELTA FORCE - BLACK HAWK DOWN: TEAM SABRE and should see a window that has a "Finish" button. If you want to view the "ReadMe" file for the game, make sure the checkbox is checked and click "Finish".
To run the game, remove the DELTA FORCE - BLACK HAWK DOWN: TEAM SABRE CD and insert your original DELTA FORCE - BLACK HAWK DOWN CD, and start the game as you would normally.
You will need to update the game before you can play online. Update by downloading the update from http://www.novalogic.com/updates.asp click on "Delta Force Black Hawk Down: Team Sabre - General Update". Click the "US" HTTP link and save to your "Desktop". After downloading the dfbhdts_update_012104_ux.exe file, double-click on it's icon to run the installer. When the updater request the location of the Novalogic Executable, go to the field that says "Look In:" and click on the down arrow and select C:\Program Files\Novalogic\Delta Force Black Hawk Down. Then click once on the first file that has the Delta Force Black Hawk Down icon next to it (DFBHD.EXE). Then click on OPEN.
This will start the update process.
