Why is it that at certain distances things like grass and decorations disappears or change? Is there something wrong with my video card?

Answer:
The game operates in a way that allows your processor and video card to render huge outdoor areas. It does this by assigning things a level of detail based on your distance away from the object and your video card settings. The farther away objects have less detail than the objects that are right next to the player. Because of this it’s possible that you’ll see some features disappear or change as you move father away. While a player may appear from far away to be laying on a bare hillside, it’s possible that he’s laying in thick grass that is not being rendered in order to make the game play smoothly.
